Why leading with taxes actually works
I’ll be honest – for a long time, taxes felt like the thing advisors knew mattered but didn’t quite know how to lead with.
I saw smart advisors doing great planning work, caring deeply about their clients, and still struggling to clearly articulate their value. Not because they weren’t good at what they did, but because the impact of their advice wasn’t always obvious to the client.
Meanwhile, the advisors who were growing the fastest weren’t louder, flashier, or better at marketing. They were clearer. They understood taxes well enough to spot opportunities others missed, and they could explain those opportunities in a way clients immediately understood.
That’s when it clicked for me:
Tax planning isn’t just another service – it’s leverage.
Every client files a tax return every year.
Every client wants to pay less.
And almost no one is proactively helping them connect their financial decisions to real tax outcomes.
When you lead with taxes, something changes. Conversations get easier. Fee discussions feel less defensive. Clients stop asking what you do and start seeing why it matters.
That’s why I put together this upcoming webinar, The Financial Advisor’s Silver Bullet: Taxes. Not to talk about gimmicks or internet-friendly strategies, but to walk through the practical, repeatable tax approaches that actually work in real advisory practices.
We’ll talk about how top advisors use tax returns to uncover opportunities, how they communicate tax insights in a simple, client-friendly way, and how small, consistent actions compound into noticeable results for both clients and firms.
If you’re tired of competing on price, explaining your value over and over, or hoping clients “just get it,” this free session is designed for you.
